something big is coming

I started growing mushrooms a few years ago. Just as claims about the wellness benefits of functional mushrooms started to pop off on social media.

I quickly found that I really enjoyed the meticulous nature and tight quality controls around the growing environment. Everything has to be just perfect in order for it to work. It suited my brain (and curiosity) to watch a process from near inception (spores in a syringe) all the way to a powerhouse tincture – with scientific evidence to suggest that it may actually help us live better/longer/more fulfilling lives.

So, i just kept going. Reading and researching the benefits and blending possibilities/benefits.

At the same time, companies with a lot more money than me were saturating the market with products and promises. Mushroom coffee, mushroom tea, mushroom powder, etc.
You can now even get something resembling lion’s main products, very inexpensively, at the grocery store.

But it’s important to note – You’re not paying for quality and transparency, as much you are for massive advertising budgets and needless packaging.

Very little is explained about the process of extracting what’s actually functional from the mushrooms. And when you dig a little deeper, you find that, in fact, very little of the important functional properties are included in these products. [Link to functional properties breakdown]

By purchasing pfunct. products, you’re supporting a dream and a passion. You’re helping support a small business, [locally owned and operated, somewhere deep in the woods of NC].

One who grows and sells small batch – high quality functional mushroom tinctures. For the art of it. For the love of it. And for the hope that it helps us live better lives.

So what’s the p. for?
Today, it’s passion!

Over the next few months, we’ll show you the entire process: from spore syringe to finished tincture. You’ll see the growing, the harvesting, the double extraction, the bottling. And if you want to learn how to do it yourself, I’ll teach you that too.

First up: liquid culture from spores. Stay tuned.

Cheers,
Tommy – superfan of the underdog
